With OFA/NT8 off the ground (with a few minor bugs we are working on), I thought today would be a good opportunity to showcase the OFA/AlgoX build for MotiveWave.  We’ve had a lot of interest in this new build and before we jump into the video – let me explain a little about the main difference in this build versus NT8…

Aside from specific features like Algox, the primary objective in building OFA for MotiveWave (and for Tradovate) was to give users some platform options.  MotiveWave will be a great choice for true market technicians – those of you who obsess over perfect charts with highly advanced analytical tools. MW has a comprehensive database of all your chart annotations and isn’t designed to launch a brand new chart each time you load the application.  It’s a deeply analytical platform with features designed for that type of user.

Probably the most important aspect of the build is that OFA and AlgoX were built into the actual platform.  They are not plugins.  The owner of MotiveWave coded OFA to our specification.  This means that the entire user experience is smooth – things work as expected with no surprise errors.  The OFA algos run incredibly fast and without much system resource use.  So while it may be a major change for a NinjaTrader user to move to MotiveWave – for those of you coming from something other than Ninja – you’re likely to be very impressed with the build and less concerned about the learning curve.
